Happy Wanderers Guided Hike: September

Free

with Community Health and Coastal Mountains Land Trust

Calendar Next available session starts Sep 4, 2025 at 10 am

Join Coastal Mountains Land Trust and MaineHealth Center for Health Impovement, a Community Health department at Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals for a Happy Wanderers Hike at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 4, at the Bald Mountain Preserve in Camden.

All are welcome! This hike is one of our more rugged trails with a 2.6 mile out-and-back trail with elevation gain.  This 1,280-foot peak includes exposed rock inclines and brings hikers to a striking summit view of the Western Penobscot Bay.  Hiking footwear and plenty of water are encouraged.

There are several areas with beautiful views before the trail section boasting exposed rock and more significant elevation gain. Feel free to join this hike for the first scenic lookout (about .5 miles in) if you don’t want to do the entire trail.  We will have trail leaders who will guide this shorter out-and-back option.

Hiking footwear and plenty of water are encouraged.

No pets, please.

This group meets at trailheads throughout Knox and Waldo counties, usually on the first Thursday of each month.

If you are concerned about falls, have sustained falls in the past, or are interested in improving your flexibility, balance and strength, this class is for you.

*Registration is required due to a limited number of seats available in this class.*

Please call (207) 301-3950 with any questions.
