Happy Wanderers Guided Hike: Full Moon

Free

with Community Health and Coastal Mountains Land Trust

Calendar Next available session starts Jan 31, 2026 at 5 pm

Join members from the MaineHealth Center for Health Improvement Community Health department at Pen Bay and Waldo Hospitals, in partnership with Coastal Mountains Land Trust, to get outdoors and stay active with guided hikes year round.

It's time for our BONUS hike! Our Full Moon Hike at Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport, starts at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st.

For our special night hike, we will meet at the Beech Hill Road trailhead at 5:00 p.m.and hike up the hill together as the full moon rises. The trail is about 0.6 miles of hiking up a gentle, but steady incline. On top of the hill, the historic Beech Nut will be open, the fireplace will be lit, and hot tea will be served. All are welcome!

Clear skies should allow the full moon to illuminate our walk, but participants should bring a flashlight or headlamp. Footwear that accommodates the current hiking conditions are recommended: boots and ice grips may be appropriate if there is ice.

This group meets at trailheads throughout Knox and Waldo counties one Thursday (usually the FIRST Thursday) of each month - but this month we get a bonus hike!
